Dodgers Place Max Muncy on 10-Day Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers have already sent some key players to the injured list this season, and Max Muncy is the latest casualty. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts announced that Muncy was transferred to the 10-day injured list with a right oblique injury. In a corresponding move, Luke Raley was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Muncy has been an integral part of the Dodgers’ lineup, compiling a team-best 3.3 wins-above-replacement this season. However, his absence leaves a gap at first base that Albert Pujols will likely fill. Pujols has had a resurgence since landing with the Dodgers. The future Hall of Famer is slugging .571 in 60 plate appearances with an on-base percentage of .317 since signing with the other Los Angeles team.

Yoshi Tsutsugo and Edwin Rios are also on the injured list, meaning Matt Beaty and Cody Bellinger could also see time at first if Pujols needs a night off.

The Dodgers continue their three-game series against the Texas Rangers on Saturday night as steep -290 favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook.
