Donovan Mitchell Tweaks Ankle At End Of Big Game 2 Victory Over Clippers

Donovan Mitchell continued his postseason magic as he led the Jazz to a 2-0 series lead over the Clippers in a 37-point effort. The star guard seemed to tweak his ankle late in the outing but reassured the media that he is “fine” after the game.

Mitchell was red hot yet again on Thursday night as he shot 15-for-29 from the field along with six-for-12 from deep. Following a personal foul by Paul George with just 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter that led to the Jazz star hitting the deck, he was clutching his right leg in a fair amount of pain. After a few minutes, Mitchell got to his feet and was able to take his free throws and play the remainder of the game. An injury that kept him out of game 1 against the Grizzlies was to the same ankle.

“I got hit, and it hurt, but I’m fine now,” said Mitchell. “I walked in here. If you want me to sprint for you, I can. I’m good.”

Utah will now travel to Los Angeles as the clippers will host games three and four. Tip-off is set for Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. The Clippers currently sit as 4.5-point favorites, per the FanDuel Sportsbook.
