Jeff Petry, Jake Evans, Jon Merril Travel to Vegas with Canadiens

Generally, it’s a good sign when an injured player travels with their team. The Montreal Canadiens got a triple-dose of good news when it was announced that Jeff Petry, Jake Evans, and Jon Merrill were traveling with the Habs ahead of the semifinal matchup with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Evans has been out since suffering a concussion after receiving a controversial hit from Mark Scheifele in the second round. Petry exited Game 3 against the Winnipeg Jets after getting his hand caught in a camera cut-out in the glass and didn’t suit up in Game 4. Merrill last appeared in the opening round against the Toronto Maple Leafs and has been dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Brett Kulak got bumped up the lineup, skating with Joel Edmundson on the second pairing in Game 4 against the Jets. While Artturi Lehkonen replaced Evans in the forwards’ corps. As is typically the case, the Canadiens have been quiet on when to expect their players to return to action.

The Habs are longshots to move on to the Stanley Cup Final, priced as +350 underdogs to win the series against the Knights at FanDuel Sportsbook.
