Ryan Kerrigan Signs One-Year Deal With Eagles

Kerrigan spent the 10 years of his career with the Washington Football Team, and he had previously stated that he wanted to stay in Washington for the “long haul.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t really an option for Kerrigan after drafting Chase Young with the No. 2 overall pick last season. Instead, he will play for an NFC East rival in 2021. He has signed a one-year deal with the Eagles, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that he also had offers from the Bengals and the Steelers.

With Kerrigan, the Eagles could possess one of the best pass-rushes in football next season. They were already excellent last season, ranking fourth in the league in adjusted sack rate, and Kerrigan should give that unit a boost. He racked up 5.5 sacks in limited playing time last season, and he has 95.5 sacks for his career.

The NFC East figures to be one of the most wide-open divisions in 2021. The Cowboys are the favorites at +110 on FanDuel Sportsbook, while the Eagles own the longest odds at +550.
